For the annual NASCAR Throwback race weekend at Darlington Raceway this year, Hendrick Motorsports and Chase Elliott are running a special paint scheme on the No. 9 UniFirst Chevrolet ZL1 that honors Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2014 Daytona 500 win in the No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet. In addition, Elliott will also don a replica-designed driver suit and Earnhardt’s signature skeleton gloves.
On Thursday, May 9, the Chase Elliott Foundation, in partnership with the NASCAR Foundation, will launch an online auction of the authentic, race-worn driver gloves, autographed by both Earnhardt, a 15-time NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver, and Elliott, a six-time Most Popular Driver. Also included in the auction package is a VIP Race Experience for the fall 2024 Darlington NASCAR Cup Series race. In gratitude for their years of participation in NASCAR, the Chase Elliott Foundation will donate proceeds from the auction to the National Guard Relief Foundation. No. 9 primary car sponsor UniFirst has generously pledged to match the donation as well.
“The National Guard Relief Foundation sincerely appreciates the support of the Chase Elliott Foundation and their sponsor UniFirst,” said Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Karen Craig, Chairman of the Board. “Each day, across the 54 States and territories, National Guard members are working hard to support their communities and protect our Nation. Our Foundation is dedicated to providing emergency assistance to the men and women of the National Guard and their families when they are affected by a personal hardship, financial emergency, or natural disaster. The funds donated by Chase and Unifirst will go a long way towards meeting our mission and helping National Guard families when they need it most.”
The National Guard Relief Foundation (“NGRF”) serves as a nationwide resource providing emergency financial assistance to the men and women of the National Guard and their families. NGRF has been taking care of these Soldiers and Airmen since its origination in 1992 and has provided over $4M in assistance since 2004. Assistance in the form of Grants and Interest-Free Loans can be provided to currently serving, retired and former National Guard members of all ranks who have experienced a financial emergency related to events such a mobilization, natural disaster, fire/flood, catastrophic losses, or other personal hardships. Funds are provided to help with basic necessities such as rent/mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, transportation, as well as shelter due to unexpected loss of residence and funeral expenses.
While the National Guard takes care of the citizens of America, the NGRF takes care of our National Guard men and women, and their families. The Chase Elliott Foundation is grateful for their service.
The auction will go live at on Thursday, May 9, on eBay (link). Please follow this link after that time for more information and to place your bid.

It is heartening to see figures using their platform to support such meaningful causes and give back. These unique items represent a fantastic piece of history for any fan. Much like the distinct style found at America Outfits, these charitable efforts create a lasting impression. I find that the boldness of Beth Dutton Outfits offers a strength that translates well into a modern wardrobe.
Many students overlook these points when thinking about study abroad, so this post is quite informative.
This post highlights a meaningful NASCAR Throwback tribute where Chase Elliott honors Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s iconic 2014 Daytona 500 win through a special paint scheme, replica suit, and signature gloves, while also supporting a charitable auction for the National Guard Relief Foundation — a gesture that reflects the sport’s deep culture of legacy and community service seen throughout motorsports history, as also noted across NASCAR heritage archives on Wikipedia. It’s truly inspiring to see partnerships, fans, and foundations come together in a way that celebrates racing milestones while giving back to those who have served — a reminder that motorsport is not only about speed, but also about respect, gratitude, and shared memories. In the spirit of appreciating performance discussions…
This is a heartfelt initiative that not only celebrates NASCAR heritage but also channels its legacy toward meaningful social impact — much like charitable sports partnerships often highlighted on Wikipedia, where memorabilia auctions and fan engagement help support community and military families in times of hardship.
The collaboration between the Chase Elliott Foundation, the NASCAR Foundation, and UniFirst shows how motorsports can honor history while strengthening real lives beyond the track — something that also reminds me of the importance of practical financial awareness tools such as take-home-pay-calculator that help individuals plan responsibly during challenging situations.
Overall, this story feels compassionate and uplifting — a genuine example of athletes and fans coming together to give back with purpose and gratitude.
